The Parker Inn Hotel goes back to the early days of Albion, probably the early 1900's or before. It was built by Harry B Parker, who came from a renowned family of industrialists. At one point the tower was used for "plane spotting" in the 1950's. Like most long-standing establishments, the place had its ups and downs over they years. A few fires, financial difficulties, etc. Eventually it fell into disrepair and was closed in 1970. Fortunately, it was rescued and restored by Richard Munger, a local real estate developer who converted the old hotel into housing for students at Albion College. It still looks great as of 2022.
