Update 10/3/2024: The theater changed hands in 1940 also when Homer Dillenback and Frank Whipple both of Grand Rapids took over. I also found an article indicating Louis Proulx passed away in 1915 so the theater goes back further than previously thought.
This theater was opened in 1937 by H.A. Proulx. Known to have been owned by Gertrude Proulx in 1944. According to Billboard (June 3, 1951), a piano player named George O'Brien bought the Au Gres Theater around the same time. [Cinema Treasures]
