This was once the home of Strauer's Market, which was operated by Dale and Helen Straurer. Prior to that it was Herriman's Country Market. I posted the photos I took on the Tawas Facebook group and the folks there loved this place. They had cold beer, candy, subs, cheesy popcorn, and great fresh meats. It was a favorite of the hunters because they also processed deer. It was also known as Brian's Meat at some point. As for the gas pumps, they sold Shell Gasoline. It had closed and re-opened a few times over the years, but apparently 2007 was the last time it was open.
