Firebird Lanes opened in 1960 and closed around 1990. It was operated by Joe Bonfiglio. It was also known as Huron Bowl prior to that. The place was pretty classic for its time and had 32 automatic lanes. It had JB's Cocktail Lounge and Restaurant also. JB's featured live entertainment and other events. It appears the building was modified and is being used a discount store as of 2022. You can spot the Quonset Hut design on the photos that many bowling alleys employed.
Looking at the newspaper archive, it seems Huron Bowl was once located at 1116 W Huron in Pontiac. That address is a bit complicated as 1951 shows a building that could have been a small bowling alley. By 1957, a larger building is there which could have also been a bowling alley. By 1964, the prior building is gone and yet another one goes up set back from the road that could have been a bowling alley too! By 1983, another new building goes up on the premises and it seems that is what is standing as of 2023.
Reading further, the reason for this is Huron Bowl burned in 1959. This resulted in the move to the Elizabeth Lake Rd address and the name change to "Firebird Lanes". The news article on the fire is below although oddly the address in the article is different. Given that, I would say the original alley was the building pictured in the 1957 aerial below.
